Lancaster Police make 2nd arrest in Clinton Ave. homicide

LANCASTER, S.C. – On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, detectives arrested 31-year-old Lamonta Roberts in Richland County. They have charged Roberts with the September 4th murder of Jackson in a drive-by shooting on Clinton Avenue.

Lamonte Roberts 31 Of Lancaster ScRoberts is also charged with possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Roberts is in custody of the Lancaster Police Dept.

19-year-old Kenyan Blair remains in custody at the Lancaster County Detention Center on charges of Murder and possession of weapon during the commission of a violent crime for this case as well.Kenyan Blair Age 19 Lancaster Sc

Police Chief Don Roper says, “Preventing and addressing violent crime is the top priority of the Lancaster Police Department.” He continued, “Our dedicated officers and law enforcement partners devoted extensive hours to resolving this violent act.”

Roper says the Lancaster Co. Sheriff’s Office, the Multijurisdictional Violent Crimes Task Force, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, CMPD’s VCAT, Richland County Fugitive Task Force and SRT Team, ATF, FBI, Lancaster County Coroner’s Office, and the Sixth Judicial Circuit Solicitors Office helped with this case.
