Photos and snowfall totals from across the region
The streak is finally over — Charlotte officially recorded a “trace” amount of snow for the first time since January 29, 2022 at Charlotte Douglas Airport. Although it wasn’t enough snow to stick in Uptown Charlotte it was the most snow measured in almost 3 years for the Queen City at the airport where official measurements are taken. Trace amounts of snow were reported as far south as Rock Hill overnight.
Although Charlotte Douglas saw just a dusting of snow, other areas in Northern Mecklenburg county and across the Piedmont and foothills saw more than 1-1.5″ of snow.
Although the snow is pretty to look at, it also caused roads to become slick. Several bridges and overpasses were iced over and lead to several accidents around Lincoln, Iredell and Catawba counties and around the I-40 corridors.
