Giving Machine in Charlotte until Sunday
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A new kind of machines are popping up across the country that make it easier to give back to those in need during the holiday season. They’re part of a global project called “Light the World Giving Machines”.
They’ve been around since 2017 and have helped raise more than $32m for participating charities.
Instead of buying a candy bar or chips, you can donate to feed a baby for a month, or buy a pair of shoes for a child in need.
There’s a Giving Machine in Charlotte until Sunday at the Promenade on Providence in South Charlotte.
We talked with Camille Johnson, with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Relief Society General President, about the impact the Giving Machines are having.
