GASTONIA, NC – A Gastonia man faces six counts of animal cruelty after investigators say they found six dogs appearing to be severely malnourished with multiple injuries.
Gaston County Police Animal Care and Enforcement says it responded to an animal cruelty call at a home on Withers Street on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.
Investigators say they found six dogs chained up at the home. Officers arrested the owner of the dogs, Bobby Watson. He is out of jail on bond.
A release from Gaston County Police says all of the dogs are with a rescue organization which is providing comprehensive care for the them, focusing on socialization and meeting their general needs to support their well-being and development.
