Monroe man charged with animal cruelty after police say they found severely emaciated dogs at his home

MONROE, NC – A tip led to the discovery of what police are calling severely emaciated dogs at a home in Monroe.

Police say they received “concerning” information about the welfare of animals at a home on Magnolia Drive.

Officers say when the went to check on the animals, they found five dogs emaciated and one dead in the yard.

A necropsy (autopsy) found the dog died from severe dehydration and starvation. 

Their owner, 46-year-old Brandon Jackson, is charged with multiple counts of cruelty to animals and failing to vaccinate his animals.
