CHARLOTTE, NC – A woman is dead after police say a driver hit her on North Caldwell Street in Uptown Charlotte and then kept going.
Detectives say a driver hit 53-year-old Wanda Sheppard as she tried to cross the road at around 2:15am on Monday. She died from her injuries.
Witnesses told police a dark colored vehicle hit Sheppard then kept going. It was last seen driving toward East 12th Street.
