Wildlife crews are asking for help locating two bobcats believed to be burned
The bobcats were believed to be burned during Sunday's wildfire in Gaston County
The Carolina Wildlife Conservation Center is seeking help from the public to locate two bobcats that may have been burned during Sunday’s wildfire.
Morgan Rafael, the Executive Director at the Carolina Wildlife Conservation Center tells WCCB Charlotte, “The two bobcats seemed to be suffering possibly due to injuries from the fire. They looked to be in poor condition and we need to get them help soon so they don’t suffer any longer. We hope to get them safely to our wildlife hospital where they can be treated for their injuries. In our care, they will be rehabilitated so they can return to the wild. It is important for everyone to be on the lookout for any wildlife that has been displaced or injured from the fire.”
People can call the CWCC hotline to report any wildlife needing help. The number is 980-389-1133
The latest update from the North Carolina Forest Service states the fire has burned roughly 730 acres.
