WASHINGTON — With days to go until Christmas, holiday travel is in full swing.
AAA predicts projects 119.3 million people will travel 50 miles or more from home from Saturday, December 21 to Wednesday, January 1.
107 million people are expected to travel by car, while 7.85 million will travel by airplane.
American Airlines says they expect to see 1.3 million travelers come through Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
The holiday travel season runs through January 6.
The top holiday destinations include Orlando, Los Angeles, Honolulu, New York and Las Vegas.
AAA’s list are based on booking data from December 21 to January 1.
