MOUNT HOLLY, N.C. – Mount Holly officials announced updates to its recycling program earlier this month at a City Council meeting.
Mount Holly City Manager Jonathan Blanton announced that the blue recycling cans will be collected and redistributed to various locations. This includes Gaston County and some communities in western North Carolina that were affected by Hurricane Helene.
Residents are asked to put their blue recycling bins at the curb on their assigned pick-up day. This will go into effect beginning the week of January 6th, 2025.

Wednesday Week of January 20-24, 2025
Thursday Week of January 27-31, 2025
Friday Week of February 3-7, 2025
Crews have over 1,200 customers to service each day. As such, it will happen over a multi-week period.
Back in June 2024, the Council made the decision to suspend the City’s contracted recycling program.
