Seasonably warm ending to 2024
A few showers or even a thunderstorm may roll through on Tuesday, but we should dry out for your New Year's Eve plans.
The weekend is ending on a quiet and comfy note after a stormy start to our Sunday. Lows will dip into the 30s and 40s as we move into the penultimate day of the year. Despite the chilly start, sunny skies and southwesterly winds will usher temperatures back into the 50s and 60s across the board on Monday. Expect more of the same on Tuesday, although we may see more clouds as another rainmaking system approaches from the northwest. While a few gusty showers or even a storm may roll through the WCCB Charlotte viewing area in the afternoon, we should end up decidedly rain-free by the time the clock strikes midnight.
2025 starts on a sunny note, although Wednesday will be noticeably cooler than its early-week counterparts as highs reach into the 40s and 50s. The downward temperature trend continues into the first weekend of the new year as highs in the 30s and 40s take hold of the Carolinas. Lows may dip into the 20s and teens, and models suggest even colder air lies beyond.
