CMPD investigating city’s 4th homicide in 2 days

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating after being called to the scene of an assault with a deadly weapon around 9:30p Monday in northeast Charlotte. They say when they arrived to the 8200 block of Dave McKinney Avenue, they found a man who’d been shot to death in the parking lot of the Century University Apartments.

Investigators say a vehicle they believe to be involved in the deadly shooting fled the scene. They are looking for that car, and detectives are speaking with possible witnesses in the area.

This homicide marks the city’s fourth in just two days. A CMPD major told reporters all of the deaths involved guns and all were “senseless.”
