FBI, SBI: East Carolina University Assoc. Prof arrested in child sexual abuse materials investigation

PITT CO., N.C. – A professor at a North Carolina college has been arrested in connection to a child sexual abuse materials case.

The FBI and the SBI worked together to arrest 57-year-old Blace Nalavany. They served a warrant at his home in Pitt County Monday afternoon. Nalavany is charged with 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

He has been an Associate Professor of Social Work at East Carolina University since 2006. He’s under a $750,000 bond in the Pitt County jail.
