Specialty beer and wine shop Cork & Cap to open at Camp North End

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –  ATCO Properties & Management along with partner Shorenstein Properties, LLC  announced today that Cork & Cap, a new specialty beer and wine store, will open on January 30th in the heart of Camp North End’s vibrant Keswick district. The retail experience will feature a curated selection of beer, wine and grab-n-go bites, complimented by a tasting bar and comfortable seating to linger.

Over the past decade, co-owners Brian Kelly and Adam Lingle visited more than 1000 breweries nationwide, gaining meaningful industry experience discovering the nation’s best beers. Cork & Cap will utilize that knowledge to offer a hand-curated selection of the finest beers and wines – focusing on ones that likely aren’t available at local grocery stores. Refrigerated and non-refrigerated sundries and snacks will also be available making Cork & Cap the perfect date night picnic or casual hangout.

Designed with an industrial vibe to complement the campus feel of Camp North End, the shop’s interior will include a 16-foot bar with high-top chairs, where visitors can sip on one of Kelly and Lingle’s personal recommendations. There will also be multiple tables with seating, a comfortable lounge area and several desks for those who may want to drop in and work remotely from the space. Drawing inspiration from the space’s previous office use, the former “boardroom” has been reborn into a private tasting room, where Cork & Cap plans to host programming and events.

Cork & Cap will celebrate its grand opening with an exciting event on January 30th from 4pm to 9pm. The public is encouraged to drop by and enjoy complimentary CAVA, and wine tasting and education provided by industry expert, Wil Witters, while exploring the new space and sampling various beverages from the store’s curated collection.

“Cork & Cap is more than a shop – it’s a gateway to discovering exceptional beverages and a gathering place where curiosity is celebrated,” said Brian Kelly.  “Camp North End’s community is an ideal home for what we envision – a neighborhood destination where both newcomers and connoisseurs can learn and connect over great drinks – and we look forward to introducing customers to hidden gems from around the corner and around the world.”

Kelly is no stranger to operating a business at Camp North End. In 2020 he relocated the technology company he founded and served as CEO for – CloudGenera – to Camp North End. This past summer, after 12 years at the helm, he sold the business and set his sights on his next venture and passion project: Cork & Cap.

“Brian and Adam’s deep knowledge of craft beer and specialty wine shines through in every aspect of Cork & Cap,” said Tommy Mann, Development Director of Camp North End. “Kelly has been a longtime tenant and strong advocate of Camp North End, and when it was time for his next venture, we couldn’t have been more proud he chose to launch his new idea here.”

Located at 1701 N Graham St, Suite 110, Cork & Cap is subleasing 2,600 square feet from CloudGenera, which previously occupied the space. Cork & Cap will initially occupy 1,200 square feet with plans to expand into the entire space with the growth of its market offerings.

Cork & Cap plans to be open Wednesday through Sunday, operating from WED-THUR: 4pm – 9pm | FRI: 3pm – 9pm | SAT: 11am – 10pm | SUN: 11am – 6pm.
