The Crooked Creek Fire is now 100% contained

The N.C. Forest Service confirms the fire was caused by a fallen powerline.

MCDOWELL CO., NC – The Crooked Creek Fire in McDowell County that burned 220 acres is now 100% contained.

There is an Air Quality Alert in effect from midnight tonight to midnight Friday night for Yancy, Mitchell, McDowell and Burke counties.
