North Carolina fugitive arrested in California after 18 years on the run

ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. – A fugitive wanted for first-degree murder in North Carolina was arrested in Los Angeles, California after 18 years on the run, according to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.

On May 15, 2007, a Robeson County Grand Jury indicted Omar Gray for first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.

Following the indictment, a nationwide manhunt was launched, and Gray earned a spot on America’s Most Wanted.

In January of 2025, Gray was arrested in Los Angeles on unrelated charges under the alias β€œTimothy Bloxson.” His real identity was uncovered after he went through the booking process and was fingerprinted. A certified latent print examiner confirmed that β€œBloxson” was Gray.

Gray was extradited to North Carolina where he was formally arrested on January 28. He is still in custody and is awaiting further legal proceedings.
