Johnson & Wales University launches free tuition initiative

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Students at Johnson & Wales University could soon get free tuition. The university will offer free tuition for undergraduate students entering in the fall of this year. The new initiative covers up to 100 percent of tuition for students and families with an annual household income of up to $80,000, and at least 60 percent of tuition for those with a household income below $200,000.

Johnson & Wales President Rick Mathieu says, “We will continue, as a university, to really focus on making sure our students are prepared for careers through really good internships and then ultimately strong careers. So it’s a whole package of tuition, you know, less tuition and continued focus on jobs.”

Students must be residents of North Carolina, have a GPA of 3.2 or higher, and file a FASFA form.
