Spectrum awards nearly $40,000 to Charlotte-area non-profits

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Spectrum is donating $39,500 to 11 different nonprofits in and around Charlotte.

It is part of the company’s employee-driven grants program that recognizes the value of community service. The grants are apart if a commitment to support 500 nonprofits nationally with $2.5 million through the Spectrum Employee Community Grants Program.

β€œSpectrum Employee Community Grants support local nonprofits that hold a meaningful connection to the Spectrum employees who nominate them, and to the communities they serve,” said Geoff Banning, Area Vice President, Western North Carolina. β€œWe’re increasing our investment in the program, in support of our employees’ dedication to volunteer work and vital community organizations that enhance the lives of local residents.”

The recipients of the Spectrum Employee Community Grant are:

  • Empower Then Conquer – $5,000 to support individuals facing homelessness, depression, academic challenges, and resource shortages in Rock Hill, SC.
  • Guardians of the Children Gastonia Chapter – $2,500 to support programs that help children who have experienced child abuse.
  • Healing Vine Harbor – $5,000 to provide critical social services focused on supporting unhoused and at-risk women.
  • Hope Match – $5,000 to support the Adopt-a-Family program that provides families with essential items, school supplies, support groups for women, celebration assistance for children, food and financial education information.
  • International Center for Community Development – $1,000 to help the center provide public services and community education for the underserved in Cabarrus County.
  • Love N Cherish Family Center and Food Pantry – $2,500 for food and necessities for under-served families facing food insecurity in York County.
  • Open Arms Outreach Foundation – $5,000 to provide meals, clothing, and essential items for the unhoused population.
  • Respected Dreamers – $5,000 to provide underserved school students with special care bags that include school supplies, hygiene items, and snacks.
  • Southside Baptist Church – $2,500 for the Caring For The Community and Clean Start program offering meals, showers, haircuts, essential items, and groceries for the underserved in Gaffney, SC.
  • The Bulb – $1,000 for their mobile farmers market to provide access to fresh produce in food-insecure neighborhoods.
  • The Latin American Coalition – $5,000 to provide access to mentoring and community engagement activities for the low-income Hispanic/Latino and immigrant community.
