NIH research meetings still canceled
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The process for awarding new research funds is still being held up at the National Institutes of Health. This is despite new guidance this week that says some closed review meetings could proceed.
Still, meetings for the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute and National Institute of General Medical Sciences were canceled this week.
The agency is the largest funder of biomedical research in the world.
Some there say they’re also worried they may lose contractors because of issues paying them.
