Post Office employee and co-conspirator sentenced in stolen check scheme
A postal employee and her co-conspirator have been sentenced to prison for a multi-million dollar stolen check scheme.
Both women are from Charlotte.
Prosecutors say the two stole checks worth more than $24 million.
Nakedra Shannon, 30, is sentenced to five years in prison. She worked as a mail processing clerk for the USPS at a distribution center in Charlotte.
Desiray Carter, 30, is sentenced to four and a half years. She sold the checks to other people.
Both will have to serve two years of supervised release and pay more than $100,000 in restitution.
