IREDELL CO., NC – The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office is looking for 33-year-old John Wines.

He’s wanted for a shooting at the intersection of Wiggins Road and Mount Ulla Highway.

Sheriff Darren Campbell says deputies were called to the intersection early Thursday morning for a shooting.

They found a person who had been shot in the stomach.

Investigators say the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute and that the suspect, Wines, followed the victim’s car earlier that night.

They say Wines blocked the victim’s car at the intersection, which led to a fight.

That’s when detectives say Wines shot the victim and took off.

Detectives say Wines was wearing  a court-ordered ankle monitor for domestic violence charges, but cut it off after the shooting.

He is wanted for the following charges:

Felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill
Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
Felony Violation of a Domestic Violence Protection Order with a Deadly Weapon
