Nearly 2,000 Charlotte Catholic HS parents sign petition demanding more transparency from school leaders

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Nearly 2,000 Charlotte Catholic High School parents have signed a petition demanding transparency and accountability from school leadership. The parents say they are concerned about a change in the school’s accrediting agency that they didn’t know about until after the fact. The parents say they are worried about how the change will impact the school’s college prep standards. They also say they’re concerned about the number of teachers and counselors who have left the school mid-year.

In a letter to parents, the superintendent of Catholic Schools in Charlotte says the new accrediting agency is just as competitive, and that the three staff departures are not unusual for a school of its size. We have requested comment from Charlotte Catholic and the superintendent and will keep you posted.
