Man charged with November deadly shooting in southwest Charlotte
UPDATE:
CHARLOTTE, NC – A 22-year-old man is in custody charged with a deadly shooting in southwest Charlotte back in November.
Members of CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) arrested Demetry Rorie on Tuesday.
Investigators say he was on electronic monitoring in connection to a separate crime.
Rorie is accused of shooting 22-year-old Apree Leak on November 12, 2024. Detectives believe someone drove Leak to the Circle K on South Tryon Street after he was shot somewhere else.
Rorie is being held without bond, charged with murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

CHARLOTTE, NC – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting in southwest Charlotte.
Police were dispatched to an assault with a deadly weapon call at the Circle K on South Tryon Street around 3:30 Tuesday Morning.
When they arrived, they found 22-year-old Apree Leak with a gunshot wound. Detectives believe someone drove Leak to the gas station after he was shot somewhere else.
MEDIC took the shooting victim to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
