Discussion:
Today will be breezy and cold with highs struggling ot break out of the mid 40s this afternoon under sunny skies. Tonight temperatures will fall into the teens and 20s. Clouds will gradually fill in Tuesday with highs reaching the upper 40s to lower 50s. A developing low in the Gulf will bring a winter storm to the region Wednesday. We will likely see a light cold rain transition to all snow by midday with a wintry mix near the NC/SC border. The low is trending further away from the coast which would means the highest snow totals would be further east. As of now, up to 1″ west of I-77 with 1-3″ east of I-77 and light icing further south. Snow will wrap up by Wednesday night with temperatures remaining cold through the end of the week with highs struggling to break out of the upper 30s to lower 40s and lows in the teens and 20s. The weekend will remain dry and cold with highs finally getting back into the low 50s by Sunday.
