MONROE, NC – A man wanted for grand larceny in South Carolina is locked up in the Union County Detention Center after a chase in a stolen car.
Monroe Police arrested 26-year-old Ryan Bumgarner of Huntersville Monday morning.
Police say they tired to stop a stolen car around 8:45am, but the driver took off, leading them on a high-speed chase to Indian Trial and then back to Monroe.
The chase ended ended at Rocky River Road and Secrest Short Cut Road. Paramedics took Bumgarner to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
He is charged with:
- Possession of a stolen motor vehicle
- Felony flee to elude
- Injury to personal property
- Assault with a deadly weapon
- Possession of marijuana
- Hit and run
- Fail to stop at a steady red light
- No operator’s license
- Driving the wrong way on a dual lane highway
Bumgarner had multiple outstanding felony warrants from Mecklenburg County for larceny of a motor vehicle, financial card theft and larceny.
