Beautiful stretch ahead
Highs may soar into the 70s by next Tuesday.
Happy Friday! It’s been a bitterly cold – and wintry – week for many of us in the Carolinas, but spring-like temperatures aren’t far away. Lows take another deep dive tonight into the teens and 20s as we kick off the weekend. While the warmth won’t rush in all at once, highs around the Piedmont and Foothills will top out near 70° by next Tuesday. We’ll have to settle for the sunny 50s this weekend, although mostly cloudy skies are possible at times on Saturday as a disturbance passes well to our south.
High pressure will continue its dominance into the workweek as highs surge 10-15° above average on Tuesday and Wednesday, which could push many around the Metro and southward well into the 70s. Rain chances remain at bay through the next five days; our next shot for moisture may arrive in the form of a clipper system late next week.
