Man dies after stabbing at transit station in Uptown

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have identified the victim of a stabbing at the Charlotte Transportation Station in Uptown.

On Thursday, just after 1 p.m., police were called to the 300 block of East Trade Street for an assault with a deadly weapon call. Officers say the found 21-year-old Leashan McBeath at the scene suffering from stab wounds. Medic transported McBeath to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

A police report says that based on surveillance video, McBeath, was stabbed and robbed of an unknown amount of money. Police did not say if any arrests have been made. In the report, it lists there were three suspects.
