Alexander County man arrested in road rage incident

Steven Wine MugALEXANDER CO., N.C. – The Alexander Co. Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man accused of road rage. It happened Sunday, February 23 just before 6PM. Someone called 911 to report a road rage incident where shots were fired into a vehicle off Teague Town Road in the Bethlehem community.

Deputies arrived at the scene and found the people who’d been shot at, but not injured. Law enforcement say they saw two gunshots into the vehicle. They say the people in this case all know each other.

Investigators arrested 37-year-old Steven Anthony Wine of Taylorsville. He is charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of shooting into an occupied vehicle, one count of violation of a release order for a domestic violence case, and one count of damage to
property.

Wine is being held with no bond. His first court appearance was Monday, February 24 in District Court.
