CATS launches new microtransit service

CHARLOTTE, NC — Starting Monday – getting around parts of the Charlotte area– will be easier. 

The Charlotte area transit system  is launching a new on-demand  shared ride service. 

Right now– it will only serve northern Mecklenburg County. 

Officials said  the program is affordable– and to use the service you can book using the CATS pass app.

“If the car is coming right to your house for $2.22 or something, I mean, that is just amazing,” Betsy Flager said. 

CATS Micro will operate daily. Weekdays will be from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Weekends will be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
