CHARLOTTE, NC – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control (ACC) is again dealing with crisis levels at its dog kennels at both the main shelter on Byrum Drive and the satellite shelter on Toomey Avenue.

ACC say 33 dogs entered the shelter on Monday, and there are only 13 open kennels, which will fill quickly. Euthanasia for space could occur as early as Tuesday afternoon.
Due to this emergency situation, adoption fees for dogs are being waived at both locations through Sunday, March 9th.
The adoption fee will be waived when a donation is made to support shelter programs.
You can still help by sponsoring a dog’s adoption. Visit the ACC website, select a dog you would like to help, then go to the donation page and choose the adoption sponsorship option. Enter the dog’s animal ID (AXXXXXXX) in the comment box to indicate which dog you would like to sponsor.
