Student loan income driven repayment plans blocked
WASHINGTON, D.C. –The Department of Education has temporarily removed the online applications for income-driven repayment plans.
This comes after a U.S. court of appeals blocked the agency from implementing former president Biden’s “Saving on a Valuable Education” plan last month.
The plan reduces monthly payments and shortens the time it takes to receive student loan forgiveness.
It launched in 2023, but has been on hold since last July due to lawsuits.
