Two Belmont Abbey students were convicted on assault-related charges from a Halloween incident in 2024.
“We are pleased to obtain justice for the victims of these Halloween assaults, justice made possible through collaboration with the Belmont Abbey Campus Police and our local law enforcement,” Assistant District Attorney Rachael Merritt said.
Darius Kane, Isaiah Josue, and Darryl Holloway were each charged with Assault on a Female and Assault and Battery. The incident occurred on Belmont Abbey’s campus.
Kane was convicted of Assault and Battery and sentenced to 30 days imprisonment suspended for a period of 12 months of unsupervised probation.
Josue was convicted of Assault on a Female and Assault and Battery. He received a 60-day sentence suspended for a period of 18 months of probation. He was also ordered to pay $1,006.13 in restitution to the victim.
Holloway was acquitted of his charges.
