CHARLOTTE, NC – Popular hot dog joint JJ’s Red Hots says it is closing after nearly 13 years in business.

The Dilworth restaurant posted on its Facebook page that Friday will be its last day, saying “we couldn’t shred enough cheddar to keep it going.”

JJ’s says it has served more than three million hot dogs and had a million sausages.  It has had at least a thousand employees and 1.5 million guests served.

JJ’s Red Hots says its food truck catering business will remain in operation.
