CHARLOTTE, NC – An underage person is charged with first degree murder for the shooting of a woman in north Charlotte.
The shooting happened on Vinton Street on February 8, 2025. Police found 20-year-old Emily Alvarez shot inside a crashed car.
CMPD says Alvarez died in the hospital several days later.
Detectives tracked down a suspect in the case, who is underage, and was already in custody at the Stonewall Jackson Youth Development Center for an unrelated charge.
