Charlotte among metros with highest percentage of black owned businesses

CHARLOTTE, NC – Black owned businesses are popping up all over the country and it’s no different in the Queen City. While Atlanta tops the list of Top 15 Metros for the highest percentage of black owned businesses  with 11.3%, Charlotte also makes the list at number 11 with 7.1% of business being black owned. That’s up from 5.3% in last years report. The results came from LendingTree’s analysis of 2022 data from the   2023 US Census Bureau Annual Business survey. LendingTree Chief Financial Analyst Matt Schulz says the findings tell a bigger story of the country and the work to be done.
