14-year-old arrested for making threats

Monroe Police arrested a 14-year-old accused of creating and distributing social media messages threatening violence against students at Union County Early College.

Police said the School Resource Officer received reports on Wednesday about social media messages threatening violence against students at the school.

Investigators identified a suspect and served the warrants. They found and seized multiple secured and unsecured guns and ammunition.

The 14-year-old has been charged with Felony Communicating Threats of Mass Violence on Educational Property.

The juvenile was taken into custody at a detention facility.
