I-485 Outer is closed in northwest Charlotte as crews rescued a person trapped in car off the road on Sunday morning.
It happened along I-485 mile marker 18 near Oakdale Road. Crews from the Huntersville Fire Department, Long Creek Fire and Cooks Fire responded to the scene where a patient is pinned off the road in the nearby woods. A medical helicopter is inbound.
Medic said one person was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The outer loop is closed. Drivers are asked to avoid the area at this time. It is expected to reopen around 9:50 a.m.
