CLOVER, SC – A 17-year-old boy faces charges for having a gun at Clover High School.
According to an incident report from the York County Sheriff’s Office, the boy showed the gun to fellow students in the bathroom of the locker room on Friday, March 21st.
The report says the teen told investigators the gun belonged to his dad’s girlfriend.
He said he picked up his dad and the woman the night before and she must have left the gun in his car. He said she owns a gun shop.
The teen claimed he left the gun in the car and told other students it was there, but that he wanted to take it home.
Investigators say they found the gun in a holster on the seat of the teen’s car. They say the gun had a loaded magazine in it, but there was no bullet in the chamber.
The 17-year-old is charged with unlawful possession of a handgun on school property and possession of a handgun under the age of 18.
