Police say Harding University High School teacher sent inappropriate messages to student

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A teacher at Harding University High School is out of jail on bond after being accused of sending inappropriate messages to a student.

Police arrested and charged Adrian Lewis on Friday after a school resource officer reported the allegation. Lewis did not appear in court Monday for his first court appearance. Instead, paperwork was filed with the court confirmed he’s hired a private attorney to represent him moving forward.

Lewis is charged with one count of indecent liberties with a student.
