Discussion:
A cold upper low spinning over the region today will help spark scattered showers and a few storms this afternoon. Patchy dense fog this morning is reducing visibility. A dense fog adviory for the mountains and areas north of I-85 through 8am. Severe threat remains limited, but a storm or two could produce damaging winds or small hail. Level 1 threat for the far eastern parts of the region to the coast. Highs will top out in the 50s to low 60s. Drying out and staying cool Saturday. Some patchy frost possible across the foothills Saturday morning. Clouds will gradually clear with highs reaching the low 60s. Wamring up back near 70 by Sunday with highs topping out near 80 Monday. A weak front may not bring much rain to the area Tuesday, but it will send temps back into the upper 60s by midweek.
