LANCASTER CO., NC – The death of a six-year-old girl is under investigation in Lancaster County.
A deputy on patrol found a home on fire on Old Camden Highway around 8:19 am on Wednesday.
Firefighters put out the flames and found the girl inside the home.
“This is an unspeakable tragedy for this family, and our thoughts and prayers are with them,” said Sheriff Barry Faile. “The case is being thoroughly investigated by multiple personnel representing several agencies, and I’m hopeful all the questions we have will be answered when the investigation is complete.”
An autopsy is scheduled to find out exactly how the girl died.
Nobody else got hurt.
