Belmont, NC – Were back with another Get to Know Your City, your weekly photo-driven guide to the most beautiful, iconic, and surprising places around Charlotte, North Carolina. This week, we’re stepping into nature with a visit to a local favorite that’s recently taken on a new name and mission. Formerly known as the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, this lush destination is now reintroduced as the Daniel Stowe Conservancy—a refreshed identity that reflects its renewed commitment to conservation, education, and community. Soon to bloom:

  • Over eight miles of trails, most of them free and accessible to the public
  • A fenced-in, off-leash dog park
  • Big Leaf Café + Shop, providing expanded options for meals and merch (Opening May 2025)
  • The Trailhead Store coffee shop, also serving expanded food options, beer and wine
  • Endless opportunities for outdoor recreation, including our annual Race Series and new fishing pier
  • Expanded educational offerings for children and adults, including Summer Camps and horticulture

The Daniel Stowe Conservancy invites the community and all outdoor enthusiasts to join them in this exciting new chapter for a weekend-long celebration, Your Path to Spring, held Friday, April 18-Sunday, April 20. Friday and

Saturday offer guided educational trail walks to explore renovated trails, live music, crafts for kids and more. The weekend culminates with Spring Trails and Cottontails, an Easter celebration featuring games and crafts for kids, live bunnies and opportunities to enjoy the property as the spring blooms arrive.
