26-year-old killed in Lincoln County crash

VALE, N.C. – A 26-year-old woman died after her car went airborne and struck a tree early Saturday morning in Lincoln County, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

It happened around 5:20 a.m. on Reepsville Road near Lewis Road.

Troopers say a 2002 Mitsubishi Montero was traveling west on Reepsville Road when the driver lost control and went off the road to the left before going airborne and striking a tree.

The driver, Tiffany Lashae Reynolds, died at the scene.

Troopers said excessive speed was a factor in the crash.
