CMPD says kidnapping call leads to illegal gambling bust

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say they busted an illegal gambling operation while responding to an assault and possible kidnapping call.

Officers were called out on April 4 to the Lucky Seven Arcade on Reagan Drive in north Charlotte. When they got there, they say they found illegal gaming machines inside.

Investigators say they confiscated 55 illegal gambling stations, three firearms, electronics, and nearly $24,000 in cash.

Police arrested and charged two arcade employees with felony and misdemeanor gambling violations.
