Man accused of setting Rock Hill home on fire with people inside

ROCK HILL, SC – A man is accused of setting a pile of clothes on fire inside a home in Rock Hill after an argument.

That man, 36-year-old Johntavis Miller, is charged with 2nd degree arson and three counts of attempted murder.

The fire happened around 12:45 Tuesday morning at a home on East Black Street.

Firefighters were called and found the clothes burning in the back of the house.

Three people who were inside the home got out safely. They told police that Miller got mad after an argument earlier in the evening, then set the fire and left.

Police found Miller a few hours later.
