Wonderful start to workweek
We'll stay dry more often than not, but multiple opportunities for isolated showers and storms arise midweek and beyond.
May the Fourth be with you. May’s first weekend is ending on a beautiful note after strong-to-severe storms rolled through the WCCB Charlotte viewing area Saturday night. Expect our newfound good times to roll into the start of the workweek as highs make themselves at home in the mid-to-upper 70s across the Piedmont and Foothills on Monday and Tuesday. The High Country will hover closer to 60º over the next two days as variable clouds and a few showers wrap around our exiting area of low pressure to the north.
Enjoy the sunny – or at least, calmer – skies while they last; rain chances go back on the attack as we head toward the back half of the week. While we likely won’t have to worry about severe weather over the next five days, a disturbance will likely skirt along the Deep South and Southeast between Wednesday and Friday, bringing a few showers and storms to the Carolinas within this timeframe. A strong area of high pressure appears poised to build over the western Atlantic by the end of the week, which will pump warm, moisture-laden air into our region by next weekend. We’ll stay dry more often than not over the next week, but there will be several opportunities for isolated rain from midweek into next weekend. Highs will largely hang in the 70s in the Piedmont and Foothills over the next 5-7 days.
