Discussion:
A weak warm front will lift across the region today leading to more clouds and spotty showers south and east of Charlotte this afternoon and evening. Highs will be a bit cooler, topping out in the low to mid 70s. Highs will get back into the low 80s Thursday, ahead of a stronger system arriving later in the evening. There is a potential for a few strong to severe storms after 7-8pm with damaging wind and hail being the biggest concerns. Scattered showers and storms Friday with highs once again near 80 by late afternoon.
Mother’s Day weekend is looking a lot more dreary as a wedge locks in. Highs will only reach the upper 60s to lower 70s with cloudy skies and rounds of rain that will extend through early next week. Mother’s Day looks to be the soggiest with rounds of heavy rain possible so it may be best to start planning a backup if you had any outdoor plans.
