GASTON CO., NC – A 38-year-old woman from Kings Mountain died after an early morning crash that closed part of a road and an interstate ramp in Gaston County.
Gastonia Police say a driver didn’t yield to oncoming traffic as he turned left from Bessemer City Road onto the I-85 South ramp just before 8 a.m. Friday.
The driver pulled in front of another car, which hit the passenger side of the first car. Police say a passenger in the first car, Cassie Hawkins, died.
Paramedics took both drivers to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
