Dairy Queen site in west Charlotte sells
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The iconic Dairy Queen in west Charlotte now has a new owner.
According to Mecklenburg County property records, the restaurant on Wilkinson Boulevard sold last month for $1.1 million.
The half-acre property is now owned by Khan & Singh Property Management LLC.
Right now, there are no plans that we’ve heard of about that store closing, but that possibility is one that customers don’t want to think about.
“Just a lot of great memories from when I was a kid and my mom used to bring us here and think about the first banana split that we got,” Concord resident Keith Tate said.
“Just like that place right around the corner, the barbeque place. I heard about that place being sold too. And I hope that a place doesn’t go because it’s the same thing,” west Charlotte resident Victor Oliveria said. “It’s got history behind it, and I feel like that’s enough to keep it around.”
This Dairy Queen location opened in 1947.
