Dairy Queen site in west Charlotte sells

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The iconic Dairy Queen in west Charlotte now has a new owner.

According to Mecklenburg County property records, the restaurant on Wilkinson Boulevard sold last month for $1.1 million.

The half-acre property is now owned by Khan & Singh Property Management LLC.

Right now, there are no plans that we’ve heard of about that store closing, but that possibility is one that customers don’t want to think about.

β€œJust a lot of great memories from when I was a kid and my mom used to bring us here and think about the first banana split that we got,” Concord resident Keith Tate said.

β€œJust like that place right around the corner, the barbeque place. I heard about that place being sold too. And I hope that a place doesn’t go because it’s the same thing,” west Charlotte resident Victor Oliveria said. β€œIt’s got history behind it, and I feel like that’s enough to keep it around.”

This Dairy Queen location opened in 1947.
