Dairy Queen site in west Charlotte sells
CHARLOTTE, N.C.Β β The iconic Dairy Queen in west Charlotte now has a new owner.
According to Mecklenburg County property records, the restaurant on Wilkinson Boulevard sold last month for $1.1 million.
The half-acre property is now owned by Khan & Singh Property Management LLC.
Right now, there are no plans that weβve heard of about that store closing, but that possibility is one that customers donβt want to think about.
βJust a lot of great memories from when I was a kid and my mom used to bring us here and think about the first banana split that we got,β Concord resident Keith Tate said.
βJust like that place right around the corner, the barbeque place. I heard about that place being sold too. And I hope that a place doesnβt go because itβs the same thing,β west Charlotte resident Victor Oliveria said. βItβs got history behind it, and I feel like thatβs enough to keep it around.β
This Dairy Queen location opened in 1947.
