Shingles vaccine may cut heart disease risk
The shingles vaccine may not only prevent shingles, but also lower your risk of heart disease and stroke, according to a new study.
Shingles is a painful red rash. It’s a virus that causes chickenpox in children.
It can develop into shingles in older or immunocompromised adults.
The new South Korean study of more than 1 million people was published in the European Heart Journal.
The analysis found a 23% lower risk of cardiovascular disease among people who are vaccinated against shingles.
