Local motel scene of another deadly shooting

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – An investigation is underway following another deadly shooting at a west Charlotte motel. It happened around six on Monday evening at the Loyalty Inn on Lucky Penny Street. CMPD says they found a man shot dead inside of a room at that motel. Police believe the man and the shooter knew each other.

CMPD says this latest act of violence leaves another family in our community grieving a loved one. Major Michael Ford says, “Any time that we have anything like this, it’s a tragedy. No matter what the circumstances are, no matter where it is in Charlotte. It’s a tragedy. One life lost is too many.” Ford continues, “We just ask if you’re having a conflict, try to resolve that conflict in another way other than with violence.”

There were also two shootings at this same motel in March, one of them deadly. Call police if have information about this shooting.
